Kent Winters-Hazelton joined our staff as the Transitional Pastor and Head of Staff in September. He has extensive experience serving congregations on the east and west coasts through the interim experience. For the last 13 years, he served as the Pastor and Head of Staff at First Presbyterian Church, Lawrence, KS, where he maintains his home. Kent is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary in New York City.

A native Californian, Kent attended the University of California, Santa Barbara. There he met his wife Carolynn. She is also a PCUSA minister, and has recently served as the Campus Pastor for the Ecumenical Campus Ministry at Kansas University.

Together, they are accompanied in life by their two rescue dogs, Hampton and Cabo.

Doodle was called by the congregation of Highland Presbyterian Church on September 21, 2008, and ordained and installed on December 7, 2008. She is a native of Moultrie, Georgia and a life-long Presbyterian. Doodle holds a B.A. from Presbyterian College, a Masters in Music Theory from the University of South Carolina, and a M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. She has a lot of experience in youth ministry and a great passion for it!

In searching for where God was calling her to serve, Doodle wrote: “I would like to serve in a church where people worship God with their head and hearts. This church would believe that the core of ministry is relationships with God, among members, and with others seeking to bring hope and justice to the world.”

In her spare time, Doodle enjoys a variety of activities including watching baseball games, trying new foods, traveling, playing with her cats, and reading. She has been to Disney World 17 times!!!

Megan joined the staff of Highland Presbyterian Church on January 2nd, 2018. She graduated from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary with dual master’s degrees in ministry and therapy (she holds both an M.Div. as well as a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy.) Originally from Texas, she holds a B.A. in art and anthropology from Austin College in Sherman, TX. Following college, she served as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) in Miami working with Haitian and Central American immigrants and refugees. While the YAV program is only one year long, she ended up staying five years in Florida discerning a call to ministry and mission before moving to Louisville for seminary. Megan is also seeking licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy and works part time at Creative Family Counseling. She and her spouse Shannon have one daughter, Lily, who enjoys rolling around the back of the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Megan enjoys doing anything outdoors and loves fall weather in Kentucky!

After teaching at University of Louisville and Louisville Presbyterian Seminary a combined total of 28 years, he served as pastor of the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church. He has also served churches in Mid-Kentucky Presbytery. He is currently a member of the Commission on Preparation for Ministry of the presbytery. Charles will assist the staff in hospital, nursing home and in-home visitation.

Carlo Vincetti (Vini) Frizzo joined us as our Director of Music Ministries in August of 2019. He graduated with a doctorate in choral conducting and composition from Indiana University. He holds a BA in keyboard studies and French from Murray State University and a Master of Music in composition from Louisiana State University. Prior to beginning doctoral studies, he taught music theory and composition at Sam Houston State University. He has served as music director for the past five years at First United Church in Bloomington, Indiana, where he conducted the adult choir and hand bell choir. During his doctoral studies he has conducted various ensembles including chamber works, operas, symphonies, and a cappella groups. He has also won several awards in composition including the American Prize in Composition for Light/Pop music.
